"I am currently working as a dance teacher in a school in Bangalore, and I feel truly grateful to Archana Sinha Ma'am for always encouraging me and believing in my talent.

I began learning Kathak in Kuwait at Ghungroo Kathak Academy under her guidance. She is a highly experienced Guru with profound knowledge of traditional Kathak, as well as Bollywood and fusion Kathak choreography. I had the wonderful opportunity to be part of several of her choreographies in Kuwait through Ghungroo Kathak Academy, which helped create a strong presence for Kathak there.

One of the most memorable performances was "Vibe," choreographed by Ma'am. It was truly an incredible performance. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we continued learning Kathak online, and most of the students successfully cleared their Kathak exams with distinction.

With her blessings, I am now doing well as a dance teacher myself. I wish Archana Ma'am and Ghungroo Kathak Academy continued success and all the very best for the future."

"I would like to share my wonderful experience with Ghungroo Kathak Academy and Archana Sinha, who instilled in me a deep love for the beautiful Indian classical dance form Kathak, even when I was completely devoted to hip hop. Under Archana Mam's guidance, I learned Kathak step by step with a strong foundation and understanding of the art form, despite already being trained in western styles. Her teaching style is extremely patient, structured, and inspiring.

I was awarded first prize for a Kathak–Hip Hop fusion performance in the dance competition Dhoom Macha Le Kuwait, where the Kathak choreography was beautifully created by Archana Mam. Under her guidance, I also performed pure Kathak and Bollywood Kathak many times in Kuwait, and our performances always received great appreciation from the audience.

I highly recommend Ghungroo Kathak Academy to anyone who wishes to learn authentic Kathak along with beautifully choreographed Kathak fusion under the expert guidance of Archana Mam. It is truly a privilege to learn from such a dedicated and inspiring guru."

"I have been a student of Ghungroo Kathak Academy for the past six months, and the journey has been truly transformative. Under the guidance of Archana Ma'am, I have been trained very systematically in the fundamentals of Kathak, which has helped me build a strong foundation in this classical dance form.

Archana Ma'am recognized my talent and potential early on and gave me the prestigious opportunity to perform a Fusion Kathak piece at the International World Beauty Pageant in Canada. It was a high-speed choreography, and she worked tirelessly with us to ensure we performed with the grace and precision of professional Kathak dancers.

Our performance received thunderous applause from every corner of the auditorium β€” an unforgettable moment made possible by her dedication, discipline, and expert choreography.

What sets Archana Ma'am apart is her unique teaching method β€” she knows exactly how to nurture a beginner into performing like a professional. Her choreography is spectacular, her passion is inspiring, and her belief in her students brings out the best in us.

Thank you, Archana Ma'am, for being my mentor and guiding light. πŸ™"

"I am a trained Bharatanatyam dancer and have recently joined Ghungroo Kathak Academy to learn Kathak choreography and perform. I feel highly obliged and deeply touched by Archana Ma'am's kindness. Due to my financial constraints, I was unable to pay the tuition fees to learn pure Kathak, but she encouraged me to continue my training free of cost, purely out of her passion for teaching and her unwavering commitment to her students.

Archana Ma'am is extremely generous β€” she often opens her wardrobe to provide performance costumes to many of us without charging any rent. She also goes above and beyond to take care of her students' well-being. During long rehearsals after work, she arranges food for everyone, and if practice continues late into the evening, she even prepares dinner herself.

Her dedication is truly inspiring. She devotes countless hours to train each one of us, focusing on achieving perfect synchronization and coordination. She firmly believes that excellence can only be achieved through mutual hard work, consistency, and commitment.

Words are not enough to describe Archana Ma'am's dedication, generosity, and passion for dance. We, her students, feel deeply privileged to learn under such a talented, compassionate, and selfless guru."

"I've been a student at Ghungroo Kathak Academy since its inception in Canada, and learning under Archana Ma'am has been an inspiring journey. She teaches pure Kathak with passion and dedication, offering her students many opportunities to perform at well-curated, high-quality events β€” never forced, always by choice.

Archana Ma'am teaches not for money, but out of genuine love for dance and her students. She is fair, transparent, and collaborative in every aspect β€” from choreography to costumes. Her custom-designed costumes are elegant, unique, and always admired on stage.

Beyond being an excellent teacher, she's a kind and nurturing mentor who treats every student like family. Ghungroo Kathak Academy truly reflects her grace, generosity, and deep devotion to the art of Kathak. ❀️"

"Many of the dance instructors in my area (California) have a full time job and teach dance on the side. Archana, on the other hand, lives and breathes her dance form and has made it her career. There is a big difference in the teaching methods from a professional dancer / instructor who is passionate about her craft versus someone doing it on the side as a hobby.

My daughter is almost 7 years old and was learning Kathak for 2 years in California when I realized that her skills weren't improving much. That's when I found Archana (via TeacherOn) and sent her a short video of my daughter's dancing. Archana was able to point out deficiencies in her dance form right away and sent me suggestions to correct her form. That's when I knew Archana was the instructor I wanted for my daughter.

We have been taking classes with Archana for only one month, but I already see so much progress in my daughter's ability. She has more stamina for dancing and is better about keeping her elbows up, looking at her hands, turning her body, flexing her wrists... It's truly amazing how much Archana has been able to accomplish in one month of online lessons with my daughter versus several months of in-person lessons with other instructors.

Thank you, Archana!!!"

“Archana Sinha is one of the most passionate and dedicated teachers I have come across. She is a perfectionist who can make a non-dancer a great dancer — because more than the dancer, she believes in herself as a soulful teacher. She makes true the ABCD of dance: Anybody Can Dance.— Tabassum Ali, Student, Ghungroo Kathak Academy

Archana Sinha was born in Kolkata and is an accomplished academician and performing artist. She holds a B.Sc. from Kolkata University, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Public Relations from Rajendra Prasad Institute, Mumbai, and a B.Ed. from Annamalai University. A true all-rounder, she has won numerous awards in inter-school and college competitions in dance, debate, recitation, extempore, mime, and sports. She is also a certified NCC cadet and Civil Defence certificate holder from West Bengal.

Archana began her Kathak training at the age of 10 and completed her diploma from Prayag Sangeet Samiti. She further refined her classical skills under the guidance of Padmashree Mrs. Alaknanda Bose in Noida and received further advanced training under the tutelage of Shri Arjun Mishra ji. She also holds an additional diploma in Kuchipudi under the tutelage of Shri Prabeer Dutta.

In 2016, Archana moved to Kuwait and joined DPS Kuwait, where she was swiftly promoted to Head of Department – Dance in 2017. Determined to promote the classical art of North Indian Kathak, she founded Ghungroo Kathak Academy in Kuwait, running two centres in Salmiya Block 10 and Mangaf, teaching over 50 students aged 7 to 50 years.

Ghungroo quickly gained recognition through landmark performances — including the concert of Kailash Kher (2017), the Bollywood Tollywood Dhamaka with Chief Guest Piyush Bhagat, and Dhoom Macha Le, where students performed before Dance India Dance celebrities Punit Pathak and Mudassar Khan. At the prestigious VIBE 2018 event organised by D-Illusions, Ghungroo students’ Kathak–Hip Hop fusion earned thunderous applause and personal praise from Bollywood choreographer Dharmesh.

Archana has choreographed a wide spectrum of dance dramas and productions, including Kannagi, Cinemania, Navras, River Rhapsody, Noor Jahaan, Swan Lake, Sound of Music, Udaan (Women Empowerment), Taking Root (Environment), and Service Before Self.

Today, Ghungroo Kathak Academy continues to grow under her leadership in Surrey, BC, Canada, offering in-person and online classes to students across the world.
